Smart Asset rated Cedar Rapids as the best place for children in America. Out of 198 metro areas across the country we rated 1st place in 2015, 2016 and in 2017. The Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department manages over 96 parks and trails on over 4,171 acres of land. In addition to urban parks of all sizes, there are many acres held in reserve for future park expansion and flood control.
